The open-source digital foundry for people who care about privacy.
Naqia is a software foundry built in Morocco, founded in 2024 by a solo developer. The name “Naqia” means “pure” in Arabic — and that word drives everything we build. Pure tools. No bloat, no dark patterns, no server uploads disguised as “cloud processing.”
We started because every PDF tool on the internet wanted to upload your files to a remote server. Tax forms, contracts, medical records — sent to a stranger's machine so they could slap a watermark on the output and upsell you. We thought that was broken. So we built the alternative.
Build the most privacy-respecting tool suite on the web. Every tool runs in the browser. Your files never touch a server. Core tools are free forever — no sign-up required, no limits, no watermarks. We believe useful software shouldn't cost your privacy.
When you compress a PDF on Naqia, the work happens on your device. When you merge, split, or convert — same thing. The data stays with you, always. That's not a marketing line. It's an architectural decision baked into every tool we ship.
Naqia is built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel. The source code is open on GitHub — you can read every line. Client-side PDF processing is powered by pdf-lib and PDF.js, both trusted open-source libraries used by millions.
We chose this stack because it lets us deliver fast, private tools with zero backend dependencies. No Lambda functions processing your documents. No S3 buckets temporarily storing your files. Just your browser doing the work.
Every tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files never touch a server. No tracking, no data collection, no exceptions.
Our code is public on GitHub. Audit it, fork it, contribute to it. Transparency isn’t a feature — it’s the foundation.
No accounts, no watermarks, no file limits. Core tools are free forever. We make money from Pro features, not your data.
